Studio B, Up and Running

There is still some more work to do, but the construction on our new room is finally nearing the end. While there are still some finishing touches to address, Studio B ran it’s first session Friday evening. Keep a look out for adjusted rates, or call us to discuss pricing on our new room.

We decided to take a perfectly good room and rip it apart… In this first picture, you can see our former Studio B. It was a nicely painted room with light sound treatment that we used mainly for editing, sound design, and pre-production. With a substantially increased workflow in the last few months, we have decided that it would be in our best interest to have a second fully functional studio, capable of the highest quality of recording. Unfortunately, hollow walls do not lend themselves well to the best sound isolation. The result of this dilemma, can be seen in the photo a little further down the page. Grammy Awarded to Piquito D’Rivera and MCG Jazz

Congratulations to jazz composer Piquito D’Rivera and Pittsburgh’s own MCG Jazz for their 2011 Latin GRAMMY awards. Their album, Panamericana Suite, was awarded with “Best Latin Jazz Album” and “Best Classical Contemporary Composition”. Red Caiman Media had the pleasure to manufacture this magnificent record and was responsible for all of the graphic design. We congratulate them for their success and wish them the best of luck in the future.

Hill District BEAT: A Tribute to Teenie Harris

Congratulations to the continued success of the Teenie Harris exhibit at the Carnegie Museum of Art. The exhibit boasts an amazing collection of photographs taken around Pittsburgh, in the early to mid 20th century. The soundtrack was commissioned by MCG Jazz and the discs were manufactured by Red Caiman Media.

High School Musical star Drew Seeley visits Red Caiman Media

While shooting a new ABC family movie in Pittsburgh, Drew Seeley came into record some hooks for producer/composer Arjun Singh back in Los Angeles, CA. Drew is known for his rolls in movies such as High School Musical, Another Cinderella Story and I Kissed a Vampire. He has also appeared in television series The Suite Life of Zach and Cody, One Tree Hill, and Dawson’s Creek.
